Smart Parking Car Parks in South East

Smart Parking car parks are widely distributed throughout the South East, including major cities like London, Brighton, and Reading. Their car parks serve a range of facilities such as shopping centres, office complexes, and public events. Drivers using these car parks should be aware that parking regulations vary and can result in penalties if not adhered to.

How to Appeal a Smart Parking Charge in South East

Step 1: Challenge the Charge Directly with Smart Parking

The first step in appealing a Smart Parking charge is to contact them directly to dispute the charge. This could involve providing evidence such as photographs, witness statements, or CCTV footage showing that you complied with parking regulations. It’s crucial to review your vehicle's movements and ensure any alleged contraventions did not occur.

Step 2: Independent Appeals via POPLA

If Smart Parking does not resolve the issue in your favour after reviewing your evidence, you can proceed to an independent appeal process through POPLA (Parking On Private Land Agency). POPLA offers a free service where individuals can challenge parking charges levied by BPA-accredited companies like Smart Parking. The decision made by POPLA is binding on both the driver and the parking company.

You Do Not Need a Claims Management Company

Residents in the South East do not need to engage a claims management company or solicitor to appeal their Smart Parking charge. The process for appealing charges directly with Smart Parking and subsequently through POPLA is free of cost, ensuring that drivers can handle disputes independently without additional fees.
