Sytner Group, one of the largest automotive groups in the UK, has been associated with the sale of Cupra vehicles through its network of dealerships. Although Sytner Group may not currently stock Cupra models, many consumers purchased Cupra vehicles through Sytner Group or similar dealer groups on Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) or Hire Purchase (HP) finance agreements.
Cupra Finance at Sytner Group
When purchasing a Cupra vehicle from Sytner Group under PCP or HP financing, the process typically involves selecting the desired model and payment terms. The dealership acts as an intermediary between the consumer and the lender, arranging for the finance agreement to be provided by a third-party lender. A common practice in this arrangement is the use of a
discretionary commission arrangement (DCA), where Sytner Group may receive additional commission from the lender based on the specific financing package chosen by the customer.
Finding Your Lender
Consumers who bought a Cupra through Sytner Group should carefully review their finance agreement to identify the name of the lender. This information is crucial as any complaints or queries related to the car finance agreement must be directed to the lender, not to Sytner Group itself. The dealer merely facilitates the financing arrangement; it does not provide the actual loan.
If you believe there are issues with your Cupra car finance agreement purchased through Sytner Group, such as mis-selling or unfair terms, you can
complain directly to your lender at no cost. It is important to gather all relevant documents and evidence before contacting the lender, including your finance agreement, any correspondence from the dealer, and any complaints you have made previously.
You do not need a claims management company to handle your complaint; you can manage it independently with the support of information available online or through consumer protection bodies. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) estimates that 14 million car finance agreements were affected by mis-selling practices between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024, resulting in over £8.2 billion in total refunds with an average refund of £700 per agreement.
